Unexpected fun during a family retreat
The roomy family suite allowed us to unwind comfortably, and the breakfast spread was good-so many options to choose from!
Unfortunately, our bathroom door malfunctioned and locked our daughter inside momentarily. Thankfully, the staff quickly resolved the issue, but it could have spoiled our trip.

Nice room but bath didn't work, and the price felt too high.

The room was lovely, very clean and comfortable with fabulous bed.
Difficult to find - no signposts and when rang hotel receptionist unable to give directions. Restaurant not open - Saturday night in August. Food in bar terrible - so bad could not eat any of main course. Service slow and unprofessional. Waiter disappeared after serving main course and never checked on us. Waitress at breakfast left dirty cleaning cloth beside us when called away to do something else. Breakfast really bad - even the toast was soggy and cold. Public areas of hotel dirty. Birthday cakes delivered and left sitting uncovered on reception desk - unhygienic and untidy. Lots of noise from bar and people shouting outside and fire alarm went off briefly during night - no apology or explanation from staff in morning.

The hotel & spa was fantastic! The staff was super friendly. We loved the clean standard double room and the comfy bed. The location is perfect, right near the main bar area. We really enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning, too!

Room assignments did not match what was booked, leading to disappointment, as I requested a quiet room but was placed above a function with loud music. The initial room was also not the superior king room I had booked, resulting in a frustrating experience at check-in. The friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food in the restaurant were standout positives, especially the delicious biscuits and hearty bar food served during the evening.

The staff were very friendly and nothing was a bother. The food was also very good as we had our evening meals in the Lir Bar. Being a bit fussy about food and its preparation, I was able to speak with the chef who was very happy to ensure my meals were to my liking. This is not something I have experienced in other hotels. The hotel is about a 30 minute drive from Galway and it was a perfect location for our needs. I would definitely recommend this Hotel and we will definitely be back.
I found it odd that there were seats outside to accommodate smokers, but no seating area to accommodate those guests who don't smoke.

The stay was decent overall. The location was great, and the view from the room was lovely. Although the service in the restaurant was average, the comfortable bed made for a good night's sleep. I was surprised to find that I had to pay extra for spa access despite being a guest, and the facilities felt a bit cramped when busy.

There was a minor problem, the receptionist was great no messing about organised for us to speak with the duty manager, the Manager on duty Aaron was very professional and had a great way with him, lovely staff especially the friendly breakfast chefs and the very nice girl doing the toast , we also had a family function in the hotel food and service was excellent. Would return and have found that comments on Booked.net stating that the rooms were not clean were totally unfounded. The housekeeping staff were very polite and the rooms were well serviced.
